I've zipped a nice little Winamp plugin pack for you. Unzip to Winamp plugins folder, if you have Winamp.

The in_tara dll will play rm files. But you must configure it to play sound through Winamp before you go ahead and do this. Now, go to your Winamp preferences and just select output --> mp3 encoder 1.4, configure the out_enc dll to the LAME setting you want, and make sure to point it in the direction of the newest lame_enc.dll, which I also supplied. Select a directory to output mp3 and just play your rm files on Winamp. No sound will play, it will simply convert the file while a 999:99 counter counts up on the winamp time display. Conversion finishes when the winamp counter goes blank. Enjoy the new mp3s.

    Lightbulb FYI

Just to make sure everyone knows: You have to have Real Player installed for the Winamp plugin to work.

Thanks for clearing that up. I forgot about anybody else who could be reading it. I figured the guy I helped would already have it.

    You can go here: http://ra2wav.hypermart.net
than you can change rm to wav, from there you can change wav to mp3 with almost any program.

what's "crappy" and "bad" to you is relative.

i suggest you "hope" for more important things in life rather than what my file distribution will consist of.

why put crappy inferior files on a p2p net?
converting lossy to another lossy makes files into crap--it's a scientific fact

with every conversion more signal is lost and more errors introduced--this= crappy files (see Newton's First Law of thermodynamics, adapt "no complete conversion of energy" to digital signal)

just delete the .rm files and rerip the cds as mp3s
