    For software, cracks, and hacks, TV shows, and popular items (movies and music), there is nothing faster than Kazaa. End of story.

    For everything else there is BCDC++.

    For all of you shouting "viruses", yes there is an occasional virus if you are a complete moron and download a video with a single source that is called "britney spears.vbs" and is 496KB. Actually nowadays there is so much antivirus filters built into Kazaa that they don't come that way anymore.

    You can download pretty much any R rated and most PG-13 movie that came out in the last 5 years at 150KB/s or faster.

    And I have downloaded more complete series of sci fi TV shows in a matter of days then you can shake a stick at.

    Just try to get every episode of any TV show on Winmx or even DC, you'll be waiting a long long long time.

    (I said this in the other Kazaa thread. But I like it so much I thought I would use it here too.)

    (I said this in the other Kazaa thread. But I like it so much I thought I would use it here too.)

    Just the data. CLICK to see the worms and viruses that currently contain code to infect KaZaA and its users (including some specifically for KazaaLITE users. Note: These are Not all the viruses that infect Kazaa, these are *just* the ones that *specifically* infect KazaaLITe and Kazaa and its users.):

    KAZAA: ==> http://sophos.com/search/index.cgi?...ish&terms=kazaa

    Compare to Winmx: ==> http://sophos.com/search/index.cgi?...ish&terms=winmx

    Compare to gnutella: ==> http://sophos.com/search/index.cgi?...&terms=gnutella

    Compare to IRC: ==> http://sophos.com/search/index.cgi?...glish&terms=irc

    The number infecting KazaaLITE/Kazaa is upwards of 40 now:

    Example: "W32/Hantaner-A is a worm and virus which prepends itself to files found in the download folders of KaZaA and Internet Explorer. By infecting files in the KaZaA download folder W32/Hantaner-A may spread through peer-to-peer file sharing networks. "

    Sticking to the subject

    Kazaa Lite ++ finds me everything I look for. I checked out WinMX once, looked at it it's interface and determined it wasn't for me.

    I loved WinMX's incredible speed, and vast search results.

    But then came the loooooooooooooong queues, and kinda turned me away from the network for now.

    The new WinMX is supposed to kill that autoenterqueue for more sources makin the queues shorter.

    But until then, I am K++ all the way (with soulseek as backup for rare techno)

    Using those 2 proggys, i can find anything.

    Like Theinfamousone said, it is real easy to stay away from viruses. Just look at what has the most sources and seems to be the right size. If you are looking for The Lord of the Rings, don't download the one that has only 1user and is only 264 Kb. Download the one that is 713,000 Kb and has 30 users or whatever.

    Yes, the large one that has 713,000Kb is the virus. Since viruses can be any size, as you know.

    And since viruses replicate and spread, it will have lots of users.
