Unhappy Slow ass computer and errors all the time

My cpu has been super slow lately and when I shut down most of the time I am getting an error that a program called sharedprem.exe is not responding......this program is always running when I check the task manager.......what the hell is it though and could this be the problem to my lock ups and lag????:devil

    yes and maybe

Give me more info, what O/S are you using?

Tell me about your PC, speed, ram etc.

Are you using any utilities that "help" you manage your PC? . . Such as Norton, Ontrack, McAfee etc?

I have a feeling that this isnt the only problem you have, just the one that caught your attention, and theres no point putting a bandaid on it, without addressing your larger performance concerns.

Great, with your partial info, I will give you a partial answer, right click your taskbar, and launch Task Manager. Look at the Processes tab, and arrange by CPU usage. Watch that app you mentioned, and also look at Explorer, see if it is hanging.

Also, go to Control Panel, Adminsitrative Tools, and Event Viewer. Look at the Application and System Events, see if there is anything that consistantly fails. Then, write it down, Right click the word Application and System, clear the logs, do not save them.

This tells you what HAS happened, and a fresh log to look at in the near future.

Use these to identify the problem, which App or Service, and then keep an eye on them.

Also, run Spybot Search and Destroy, and Ad-Aware. If you know how to run Regedit, look for sharedprem.exe in the RUN sections, if you are not comfortable with Regedit, just depend on Spybot.
