There have been many threads about this topic. I believe I even posted something like this as well.

I use Norton Anti-virus and Sygate Firewall. They seem to work fine. My computer hasn't been hacked so far.

I use the same setup. But IMHO Ontrack works just as great if not better than Norton. I have both on auto check. But I mostly use Ontrack to search my system.

I use Norton SystemWorks 2003 and Sygate Personal Firewall. I personally like AVG Anti-Virus better than Norton though.

you should never tell people what security firewall you use.

that is step one for a hacker. :cross

I don't use a software firewall, only a NAT router, would you like my IP? I'd gladly give it to you....

Honestly, it doesnt matter if you tell somebody, if somebody really wants in, they'll find a way regardless

I like Norton 2003 (Pro), its nice, and I don't notice the overhead, but I hear corp is the way to go for norton, I'm sure you can get it...lol

Uh......no it's not......any software/hardware firewall can be compromised, but who cares?

Almost all methods of 'breaking in' by getting past a firewall are similar.....so Norton/ZA/Sygate....whatever can be beaten down and broken. Telling people what you use isn't a big deal....lol besides your butt's wide open for a reaming when you use Kazaa.....anyway....

so true:mellow i myself use norton 2003, both AV and firewall. i don't notice them running at all but then again that may be something to do with my hardware... the only way is to try and see for urself. oh and like phalkon said go corporate, i myself use the standard versions of both. if u want more help then pm me.

and about this firewall thing, companies spending millions on security get hacked, so no1 is safe. just when ur small, small hackers go after u:fire
