Do firewalls affect the search results in Direct Connect? Do they affect your ability to connect to a user in one of the hubs?
If have firewall up and haven't mapped the appropiate port for DC through you would be in passive mode and can only connect to users in active mode (no firewall or mapped ports through thier firewalls). Passive users can not connect with eachother to d/l or browse files.

Since its inception almost 30 years ago, the internet has been transformed from a primitive device for sharing thoughts and ideas, into a massive network where people pay to connect and read advertisements they don't want, while calling each other "asshats".

Also note: 2 people who have an active firewall cannot share with eachother on Kazaa or any other P2P program.
