Rename .bin file?
i've tried renaming a file thats got a double extension (.bin.exe) and it keeps hanging my computer.
Do i have to do this in dos?
and if so........how?
i'm running windows ME.

well maybe you dont actually need to rename it. (if your burning app lets you do this) open the .bin.exe file with your burning app like you would a normal bin file, exept when you get the browse menu, select all filetypes. then just locate the file, and open it. it should work if it really is a bin file.

In windows explorer, go to Tools>Folder Options
Then go to the View tab, and deselect "Hide extensions for known file types"
Then rename the file, its probably a .bin file, so I would try getting rid of the .exe

thanks everyone 4 your replys.
managed to rename it (in winfile.exe) and burn to cd.
now i got a 570Mb coaster.........(sigh)
