Hi guys,
Not new to WinMX but new to this forum.
A recent 'anomally' that I'm seeing increasingly is:
I find via 'Search', someone with, say 5 of 5 available.
I try to download and find 137 in Queue!(?)
HOW DO THEY DO THIS?? Is there a problem with
the WinMX info gatherer, or are people 'tweeking' their systems
to show this inaccurate info? Is there anything I can do
to ensure accuracy? It's most annoying to think you're
going straight into a download and then end up so Q-d.
any advice?
Those people are actually on the other side of the world from you so when you search for something on winmx and it says 5 out of 5 available, that person might have had that hours ago and now they are getting killed by uploads... there is nothing you can do about this really =)
Hope this helped :fire
thanks CrAzYMaNiAk54
Yes, it helps but it's not
good news is it, really(?)
Oh well, at least it's
an explanation.
i haven't seen a problem like that since 2.6.... if you wait forever after a search tho (sometimes i let a search run, and forget about it, and come back...) it'll have a different status. i dunno what the problem might be tho.

Yeah Isus cheers,
Granted if you wait a while after a search
people will have their slots filled up.
But this is immediately after the search,
hence the annoyance.
I thought the whois kind of pinged and
gave a currect result, but CrAzYMaNiAk54
suggests not.
It's been happening more and more recently.
I wondered if there was something wrong
with the network, but who knows?
hey.. new version coming out soon.. it will have A TON of features =)
I cant wait till the new version comes out. There is quite a bit of hype about it so it better live up to it. WinMX is a good P2P program but it is not really suited towards modem users. Because when modem users have to disconnect and reconnect (which is frequent), their spot in the upload que is lost, and thus, making it hard to get files that doesn't have many sources.
