winmx giving problems to open nap users? or maybe its the other way around

I just have a quick question, I am runing win mx v3.31 [latest ver I believe] and connected to some open nap net works. I use this for getting rarer stuff, that I can't find anywhere else. Anyway I was looking at my uploads, and 5 uploads said waiting for responce or something like that, and one said 0kb/s??? How come the transfer rate is that slow? The person was labeled as a cable user, wich is what I am, and my upload/download was set at default.

In regards to the listed speeds, I suspect that many people list a high speed because they think WinMX will work faster by listing their speed as fast.

I always connect to WPNP as a secondary user, so at times I get a series of attempted uploads that time out while waiting for an incoming connection. Under such circumstances, that indicates that the primary computer I am connecting to is not running well.

Many "opennap" servers are overloaded and have trouble establishing the p2p connections. Another problem with "opennap" is compatiblility with the various clients. Actually most of the "opennap" servers are running a program called SlavaNap, not OpenNap. You can check to see which program the server you are connected to is running, by viewing the server messages.

SlavaNap has more compatibility problems with WinMX or other clients than OpenNap does. The problems show themselves where the people are not able to enter the queues properly. For example, if you are connected to a SlavaNap server and an Audiognome user tries to get into your queue, I anticipate that it will fail.

This is one of the main reasons why I alternately connect to either WPNP, or a series of "opennap" networks, but not to both at the same time. If you connect to both networks, then many of the people on the "opennap" networks won't be able to enter your queue.
