    Angry The Dreaded Blue Screen

Ok, this just started happening about 2 days ago. First time I let it go as an "oops!" but after the second and third times, I knew something was up.

It happens when I plug in the memory stick for my digital camera to my mem stick reader/writer (connects with USB). To be more specific, if I plug in the stick to view the images, then remove it, take more pictures, then plug it back in again without restarting the computer, then WHAM, blue screen. On top of that, it flashes that real quick then restarts the computer (goes too quick so I wasn't able to read what it says). It only happens if I do it like I said, never happens the FIRST time I plug the memory stick in, only the second.

First time was a couple days ago.. and I've been using my digital cam for months with no problems.

If anyone has ANY idea what's going on here, I'll be very grateful as I hate blue screens with a passion. I'm running WinXP Home edition.. I can post more computer info if needed.

Do you safely unplug the reader? Check the system tray for a lil green icon (it should pop up once you hook the reader up).

Then right click on it and click unplug or disconnect or some crap like that.

Select the USB device from the menu and disconnect it, once that's done you can safely unplug it.

However, I've never had a problem with just yanking it out.....so I donno.

Oh and clean out yer PM box! lol I had a ton of crap for you on streaming A/V, but I lost it cuz your box was full. ; P

Dammit, my PM's were full? I did get some of the A/V stuff you sent.. was there more? I didn't have time to reply that day cuz I was running late with stuff, sorry 'bout that. It was helpful though, so thanks. =o)

And yes, I'm pretty good about disconnecting the USB, I do the Safely Remove Hardware thing 99% of the time. The blue screen came up while the USB was connected.. I left it that way, and just removed the memory card/stick thing. When I put the memory stick back in (while the USB thing was still connected) that's when it happened. Never had a problem while hooking or unhooking the USB device itself.

I have autorun set to pop up when I plug the card in, so I might just turn that off.. the blue screen happened right before the autorun is supposed to show up, so I'm thinking if I do that, it should help. Besides, I'm not so lazy where I can't just go to My Computer to open the stuff... =o)
