Need help, any help...behind firewall
I am currently at a university that has a hardware firewall that blocks all the god damn ports. However if I download over teh internet i get incredible speeds. I can also download pretty fast thru ftp sites. Is there any program I can use that can help me get around this firewall..perhaps by utilizing the same thing that the ftp transfer programs use? I would REALLY appreciate any help at all on this topic.

One thing you should find out is whether or not your school has actually blocked access to kazaa. I am also a college student and i have had the same problem with kazaa not connecting. The thing is that my school allows downloading off of p2p services, so I thought that there must be a way to connect. The solution to my problem was opening up kazaa and just waiting about five minutes for it to connect. If your school has banned access to kazaa, then there is no real way around it and you will have to use irc to get files, as irc is not blocked by firewalls.
