    DSL Modem/NetworkCard Tester?

Is there such a thing? cause i don't think my dsl is working at it's fullest, I have to reconnect every 10 mins, slow speeds, and it only happens at night! I tried calling my ISP, but they never answer!! it's always please hold!!

Well, If there is such a thing, Where could i get it??

    Ras

Give RasPPPoE a try....kick ass program that replaces the PPPoE connection program given to you by whatever BB company you signed up with.

The RAM footprint is small and it's a lot slicker then most other 'pay' or 'bundled' PPPoE packs I've seen....

    Peace

    Edit: Forgot some crap...lol

Dude, check all the phone lines in your house...if one filter is gone and the phone is "open wide" on the lines you'll get disconnects and slow speeds. Also, try reseating your NIC or removing your USB modem (psychically) and restarting without it then shut down hook it back up and restart. It could also be a conflict problem along with a simple system resource problem.

Post back with yer results...your mileage may vary... ; )

OK, CrackerJacker2003, Was that really neccisary? No, No it wasn't!

But RasPPPoE, Doesn't seem to work for me! I keep getting Link failed, Maybe my ISP doesn't allow it or something!
Also, CCSDUDE, I went downstairs where the phone lines are and it's a mess of wires down there! So i dunno about that! And i will try right now to unplug my modem and restart, and see from there! Thanks man!

Edit: If you were talking about my Network card, I can't remove it, Cause it's intergrated into the Motherboard! Weird i know

Did you set it up correctly? It's not just double clicking on an .exe file like most 'simple' installs.

    1) Open "Properties" for My Network on the desktop
    2) Click "Add"
    3) Select "Protocol"
    4) Find the folder you extracted the Ras zip file to and select any one of the .ini files that pops up in the list
    5) Let it install, restart, open the run command from the start menu.
    6) Type "raspppoe" without the quotes.
    7) When your BB modem is turned on click the top button to find your providers server.
    8) Click the bottom button to create a DUN account for it.
    9) Close it once that's done and open DUN from the "Settings" menu on your start menu.
    10) Type in your user name and password. Don't forget to add the @comcast or whatever if the original service required it.

Then connect with it, you should see that classic DUN systray icon and it'll act just like dial up, but you'll be connecting at a really insane BPS.....lol

    Hope this helps
