It is interesting to note that there is an active effort in Japanese community to develope a viable 3rd party client to access WPN using the WPN Protocol, and to access other "private" networks using modified the protocols from WPN.
If this is developed it could make the protocol itself less vulnerable to RIAA and co. SO I guess we should keep our fingers crossed.

good idea. Frankly, I think WinMX is only an evolutionary half step beyond Napster. Sure, it seems decentralized, but if you watch your TCP connections every now and then a winmx cache servers addy will pop up. I reckon they're pretty safe in Canada or wherever the servers are stored, but this is a vulnerability.
interesting but I have no idea of whom and exactly what you are talking about.. I understand that it is a somewhat modified WPN protocol but what is it?
