Seems like a egotistical psyco, with a control issue to me. Expecting his daughter to be just like him, well that doesn't happen, and should not happen. Judging by how he handled the situation I'm sure she will have lots of issues in the future. Hope he does call her when he can't wipe his own ass.

Father of the year for 2 years. Thats how you teach these young brats a lesson. I take it he was on his own patch of land, and a "cleaning lady" must be a big house. Probibly gets everything handed to her. If I said some crap like that on FB I would be kicked out the house! Good for him

I think the biggest problem many people have with this video (myself included, I guess) is his using the gun to shoot the laptop (myself included, I guess). If he had taken the laptop away and sold it, thrown it in a trash can, etc., this wouldn't be getting the attention it's getting.
He wasn't irrationally angry and frothing at the mouth. He wasn't screaming at her. He didn't call her names or use excessive profanity. He didn't hit her.
He identified exactly what he was angry about and addressed each of those points. The last time it happened, he told her what the consequences would be and followed through on them. The punishment wasn't excessive - he took away the laptop and other privileges, expected an apology to 'the cleaning lady' and gave her some additional chores. He also told her that if she gets a job, he would lighten up on some of the chores and that she could replace her own laptop.
Frankly, other than the gun, I don't see a thing wrong with what he did.
My problem has nothing to do with the gun, taking away the laptop, or any of those actions. Although destroying a laptop is a wasteful act, he could of donated it, but that does go a long way to show his character. He tries to dominate his house hold. He needs everyone to fall in line with him, or there is groundings. Maybe his daughter actually does have a lot of school work, maybe she struggles with school maybe she doesn't. Maybe she has other problems going on in her life, maybe she doesn't know how to manage her time. This father just assumes his daughter is a lazy person, when she might be lashing out because she is having trouble and all he does is constantly call her pathetic, on the internet no less. This is one of those chest thumping, everyone should be like me personalities. Those A type alpha male types piss me off.

Hmm..I didn't get that from the video at all. Although he mentioned himself working, going to school, etc., I didn't hear him say anything like 'you will be like me or be punished'. What I heard was get a job or do chores. As far as assuming she is lazy, I don't think he's assuming anything. He lives with her and sees if first hand. I also doubt he constantly calls her pathetic. Ok Zippers here is how it is seen from someone who has had to deal with an extreme alpha male.
This guy uses extreme violent physical means to make a point. There is never, and I mean never a situation in ones family that such action is required.
Just looking at this asshole body language speaks volumes. He crushes and discards his prime physical addiction, nicotine. He surrenders that demanding physical OC item to a more powerful mental controling structure.
That structure being his super ego. This guys super ego finds any actions contrary to his as a threat to his control over his own life.
This gives rise to to this assholes physical responce of shooting his daughters laptop. His ego sees this item as the current main source threating his supposed control.
A continuation of such a preceived threat to the ego can result in an extreme physical responce to the actual person it sees as a threat.
I have seen this over the top exteme alpha male responce more times then I care to count during my LE carrier.
Believe me, if this guy keeps on his current course of action it will end very, very badly for him and his daughter.
I bet he's paid thats why his daughter hasnt ran away with some punk. Im right here and shes more than welcome X-D

That gentleman has allot of money. Due to his excess wealth, his daughter is spoiled . He spent $130 on software for her laptop and then he broke it. Any common man would have sold that laptop. Although he is a controlling man, his daughter is also a spoiled brat. In this case we have what I like to call " A Efed Up Family!" - Hope that clears it up for ya buddy :-)
