I was wondering what is the best way of getting online TV, possibly for free? For example is there a way of getting the sky/cable channels included for a monthly fee or is there a streaming service where all you need is a client program?
Also, can they do DLNA over the network so you can watch it anywhere in the house?
Interesting question. I just grab individual shows if I need to. I would be interested in what options are out there these days though for a 'live' stream so to speak.

I like Project TV for my needs. I also download a lot of stuff too.
They do have a 72 minute daily limit, but there are several ways to get around that. What I do, using Firefox, I pause the show when it starts playing and let it buffer completely and then work Firefox offline and viola, no more limit. There are also several other methods if you don't use FF that can be found on Google or check their forum.

Free streaming programs are limited to things like Readon Player which essentially is a bunch of links and some ads. If you're lucky enough to find a HD stream that works, it's good. Otherwise very mediocre. Has lots of plugins for other programs which is good.

I gave it a try and it seems like there are quite a lot of channels but the quality is still poor and some channels are still in very small resolutions with poor framerates. It's better than nothing but it's still not what I'd be looking for.
Does anyone know if there are any paid services in order to get HD channels over the internet? I know this is zeropaid but I'd not be aggainst a small subscription in order to get every channel out there. In the UK we have a TV license meaning it's £150/per yr + £30 per month for a TV package so it's a lot of money. I think there is a lot of potential for TV services on the internet but it's just finding out where they are.
If it's worth watching it shows up on The Pirate Bay by the next morning.
There, I said it plainly and clearly. Anybody have a problem with that?![]()
Nope. But it's still not a live TV Service with all freeview / sky / cable channels, which would be nice. Perhaps that's just not possible yet, especially with SOAPA coming in and censorships tactics on the rise. When will they learn that there is no loss to the economy of the country? Money just gets saved and spent elsewhere.
I found another post which recommended:

But again it seems terrible quality.
There are of course the content on demand services like Netflicks or LoveFilm. Of course they cost money and don't support live tv as far as I know.
