So since the whole kindle craze is kicking off, I'm admittedly interested. I just can't justify 15 bucks an ebook vs 3 bucks for a new hard copy. My question is what is the best way to find a)legit free ebooks that would work on a kindle, or b)some sorta tracker or equivalent. This is all assuming that its even possible to use non amazon content too. Maybe there's better ereaders even?
Enlighten me
Think what my niece has is a kindle, but i may be mistaken, i can verify tonight and post again. I just dl ebooks from wherever, and so far all have worked, pdf included. Mostly rely on what.cd or demonoid.me for ebook versions of books she has, has not let me down yet...
As far as legit and cheap... no idea, good luck!

I have a Nook, which I like b/c of its hw and sw set-up, nice hw and options and runs opensource OS. Nook's are one of the few eReaders that run opensource OS, which tend to also be more accepting of a larger range of file formats, etc. My advice would be to get one and then dL the multi-tens-of-thousands of free ebooks from any one of the BT sites. My library far exceeds my ability to read that content in this lifetime.
He was full of pep. Must've had his Grande-Latte enema.
I ended up recieving a kindle for christmas. It's fantastic, though I haven't been able to find any books that I've wanted through torrents :-/ Hell the copy of communion I have looks like it was typed by an 8 year old from india. -_- The only issue with the kindle that I have (and it's pretty major) is that it's plagued with hideous advertisements. I had no idea that just browsing their catalog would cause my device to look like such a POS. still functions fine though.
if you know where I can browse a nicely organized ebook torrent site that'd be great lol. is there really not one?
PS totally pissed about the kindle not supporting EPUB. are you ****ing kidding? I'm gonna give the kindle a 2.5/5. pretty mediocre, but the $80 price tag is legit

Not all Kindles have ads. :p
I've found that pdf's can look really stupid on the Kindle. I haven't had a problem with mine. And I actually purchase books too. If you're an amazon prime member, you get access to a huge library of books. Also, your local library might have kindle-compatible books you can borrow, just like a physical book.
In my years of moving all over the place, I've decided that moving boxes full of books is a pain in the ass. I'm done with that.
Now stop being so freaking nice, and buy a stun gun. - Krell

Mon, can Kindle read PDF files? If so I know where you can get 8000 Sci-Fi books.
Just as an update the dick charleshudgen posted another bot type letter.
Have at it.
I need an E-Book on "human brain lies" something ... i don't remember the exact title . . .
Nope you have to convert it...Tater is right. PDF's tend to look horrible on e-readers. It also depends on what you are using. If you have unlocked your kindle fire you can install another android reader on it. (Fire model only) Aldiko E-reader for example handles all formats.
