    My thoughts on Metallica....

I think that i've said this already, but i think that it's ok if i'll repeat. Since Metallica is busy fighting with people who are stealing their trademark (local punk band, Victoria's secret) they have an excuse for making another bad album. And Lars Ulrich will explain it like this: "Pardon us for making extremely bad and bore record, we were too busy fighting for copyright."

take a look at them below :)

Metallica has produced some good music in the past. Are they now? Nope. And now they have alienated their fans. Congratulations to them.

    Thumbs down

Why don't they just dissolve or vaporize? They don't even have a bass player. How can they make crappy blues/rock without a bassist to slap those funky grooves? Metallica hasn't even come up with significant, original material since 1996. All of their value is purely historical. It's time for them to disappear from public life.

    Dont worry

Metallica made a duet with Ja Rule sometime last year.

Teaming up with ja Rule will just kill your career.
But hetfield trying to Rap? I thought i heard it all.

What a bunch of sell outs.
    PS, they sucked before anyway.

Blues rock? I wouldn't classify them as anything bluesy from what I've heard. I never owned a Metallica CD, though. I saw (and still see) them as the generic metal band of the 80's and 90's and found their stuff to be, for the most part, bland. Their actions against Napster and filesharing as a whole certainly don't make their music or them in general any more appealing.

And I can't imagine metal fans being to fond of rap. They are doomed.

ok, ok. We have a lot of Metallica haters on ZP, but what we really need is a big fan of this band and probably Lars Ulrich himself. And then we will have a real discussion with first virtual war between fans and haters of Metallica :)

Metallica was up there in my top fav. bands. I still love all of their old albums, but some of their new stuff has turned me off to them. The Ja Rule team up mentioned above is one of them, and another is most of Reload the album. Rest assured when their new album comes out, I won't rush to the store to get it (or even download it for that matter... unless I'm extremely bored..).

Too bad for them, they used to rock. (Even if they didn't see out in more ways than possible, can old dudes like that really produce some really note worthly metal??).

Metallica had such an underground rep, now they're so protective of their commercial status and rep. It makes me more sad than angry to see how their minds and attitude towards the music they make has changed, even more so than I dislike their change in music.

As recently as a decade ago, they would have never entertained the idea of a duet with a rapper, on philosophical grounds. Now they do it, not because of any change in their musical taste, but because they hope their album will sell better.

And make no mistake about it, their next album will FUCKING TANK. I will put money on it.
