Hi,
I am having some a minor issue, I currently have a Sony Vio FZ38M.
It came preloaded with Photoshop Elements
Adobe suit
Adobe PDF software
To cut long story short, i have bought a new laptop and wont to reinstall this software on my new laptop.
Doing a bit of googling there appears to be a way you can repackage software to be installed on a new machine.
Does anybody have any ideas how to do this?
Any help would be massively appreciated
hard to say as i've never tried this myself, but i've heard that adobe generally allows you to install their products twice. as long as it's used only by you and both aren't online at the same time, it should be legal. however since you got this bundled, licensing may be different. you could try contacting them first.
next you could try extracting the license information from your registry to transfer on to your new lappy. once the info's in the registry you should be able to install a new copy of the same version without any issues. these tools might help in that. come to think of it, if you have any recovery discs for your viao, it might be on it and installation could then be a breeze.
if all else fails, you could pick up an *cough* extended trial *cough* version off the pirate bay.hopefully someone with better knowledge will drop in with more suggestions, but at any rate let us know how you worked it out.
oh, and welcome back :)
Thanks for the help.
Aye, i could download a `extended trial` however seems a shame to loose legit software.
Thanks for suggesting that software it looks really useful, i will give it a try.
Potentially giving adobe will be the best call .
Thanks a lot for your help and cheers for the welcome back:)
Your Sony should have come with software discs for recovery purposes if you ever had to re-install your operating system. If you lost them or never received them, give Sony a holler. Also maybe check their site. For our Dells, the software that comes preloaded is generally available to us to download from there. At least you'd have the disks, then its just about getting it active on the other machine.
