Hey I'm asking this for a friend, so my apologies if this makes no sense...
Is there any firmware for Spinpoint 1TB SATA drives that allows for adjustment of the drive's cache?

I doubt a firmware upgrade would adjust the drives cache or why you would even want to. I looked on Samsungs site for firmware upgrades and the only downloads available are for external "autobackup" or for an internal diag ES tool, so my guess is no, you can't adjust the drives cache.

If I'm not mistaken, the cache on a HDD is actually like RAM. It's microchips that store temporary data. It would be like asking for software that increases your RAM.
