getting rid of WMP update 9

In response to a notice that an update was ready for download, I downloaded an update for my Windows Media Player but didn't install it.It wasn't until the download was complete and I got to the license agreement that I realized this wasn't something I wanted to do but now I can't get rid of the download. When I try to use the player this license agreement pops up asking me to agree to it and even though I click"I decline" I cannot get back to the old version of the player. How do I get rid of the download?
My system is XP Home Edition

reformat and reinstall windows.. you could try the system restore but your way better off just leaving it because your just risking alot of problems for nothing..

mplayer2 still works for the old media player.

WMP9 is alot nicer than the orginal with windows xp too.

Yep, seph is right, I'm using WMP 9, and its so much better

But to uninstall it, you have to have had a restore point, or reinstall windows, period

    I like it

I was able to recover from the beta using a surgical procedure and the Service pack, but not for the faint of heart.

Removing this version of the Player

The method for removing Windows Media Player 9 Series from your computer varies depending on the version of the Windows operating system your computer is running.

If your computer is running this operating system

Windows Millennium Edition, Windows XP Home Edition, or Windows XP Professional

    Do this :
Use System Restore in Windows. Windows Media Player 9 Series will be removed and the previous version of the Player will be restored.

Any CD tracks copied to your computer will remain, and the previous version of Windows Media Player will be able to play this audio content.

For more information about System Restore, see Windows Help

Also, if you use it, learn whats in the "view" area for full screen
