Ok everyone. I am teched out. If frying my own brain daily with enough Window 2000 and XP related factoids isnt enough,
I take on all I can to improve the computing experience of my Zero Paid community. Why? Because I like to. I . .am a geek.

I am pasting in a link from tweaktown, and I want you ALL to go thru it. The whole thing, from start to finish.

I want for you to bookmark this, or add it to your favorites, to have and to hold. As you go thru this, paste things that you learn in to notepad,
small things, like BIOS, or Memory . . . just a tad about the subjects.

No matter what O/S you have, or what you want to do with your PC, you will find something in this article that you didnt know.

God. the tone of this message is just sooooo school teacher-ish (though that's obviously your intention)/ no doubt all the 13year olds on here will go to the link, scan through it, then come back and post about how great you are, and how grateful they are.

Ahhhh well r_xq, you raise a good point. Although it isn't my intention to come off as schoolteacherish, or get any gratitude, I can't debate that you feel that way.

I have had SO many upgrade, and service related questions this past week, my thoughts were "you can feed people a fish, or you can teach them to fish" I want to help them find a good place to fish, as I certainly can't have all the answers.

Yah I guess I do take it seriously, I remember a time not long ago, when a person asked a question, and was belittled to get an answer. I also have a lot of confidence in our crew, and if they can have resources to bring to the table here, I am all for it.

So people please, don't pay me any homage, I didnt write the stuff, I just posted a link. Maybe you will learn something, and maybe you will be less bored. Sorry I offended anyone.

umm, well, i read ALL of it,
even the how to build your own pc part.. i haven't read that much in a while, i think it pushed out some of my growing up years, lol.
but on a side note, i think i wanna build my own PC now.

ok, but i have a question for you Krell, can you explain Overclocking in a way a not to computer person can understand, and also, how can i check what kind of hardware i have?
i've check out some program in windows xp( can't remember what it's called, damn.. i think that did push some old info out of my brain, lol) but that doesn't give me really detailed info.

any ideas?

When any prosser is made the desiners find out what is the best speed to run that chip at so they put a kind of govner on the chip. Now with overclocking you are removing that governer (sort of I know there is multplyer I am just silimpify it) Now when you remove that governer the chip gets hotter than it was desind so you need an extra fan. Not only that but you will get random system errors beucase the chip is not desied to go that fast.

Don't overclock, Go to www.pricewatch.com and get a new prosser or a new computer.


P.S. Dose any one know of a program that will do your math homework for you. I saw a nice perl script that did it and it went all the way up to math 196. I have allready met my GEN ED for math (math 122) but it would be a nice prog to have.

PornMaster you may also try this, it is not an installer, its a stand alone util with a very small footprint, it will tell all.

Yes I will help you with over clocking questions, and you are corrrect in gathering your info first. This will also print a report that you can export.

zebi - of course this is not real homework, or any other, but if munchables would do it, he would post less dribble.

munchables- you're right, over clocking can increase stability issues. however, you're also wrong. stability issues are the main reason that mobo manufacturers give you the ability to change vCore settings and such as well. making such a blanket, generalized statement with too little knowlege is not a good thing.

you dont need to necessarily buy a new chip, mobo, or anything else (except, perhaps, a heatsink and fan). just check out overclockers spend a good deal of time there and you will soon have so much info that you may feel as if your brain is ready to burst.

Is this just for gamers? or maybe i did not understand. I do have aida and it informs me everything about the guts of my pc.
I have this info. which I am sure it will be useful whenever I needed to know certain aspects of my pc.
Regarding this link it has info. regarding tweaks on your pc to do a better overall performance, but I am to noobie for all this.

You dont HAVE to be a gamer, but let's face it, who wants to tweak the last ounce of performance from their machines? Old ladies in chat rooms?

But all i really need to buy for my PC is a new DVD burner (Got one for cheap, and it only takes DVD+RW, and i need one that takes all formats, and i found one :) ), a 60 gig HDD, and a nice Gforce4 Video card.

And im set
