Visitor Messages?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I tried using the search feature for this question but this sites search feature is about as useless to me as a pack of extra large condoms.

I get the private message feature but what is the visitor messages purpose and what does it mean to approve or unapprove of the message.

I've found nothing inappropriate and if I did I certainly wouldn't report it, maybe brag a little. w31n3r might of answered my original question which then triggered another.

Visitors page? this seems like a personal page with a personal thread which I've just started playing with. I don't mean to sound like an idiot it's just unfortunate genetics.

Visitor's page is just a spot to make quick comments to a specific person. Perhaps comments more personal than you want to make on the open board but not so personal as to need to be in a private message? Dunno really, seems kinda overkill to me. *shrugs*

It's a mini-facebook for the 'tards that think updating their personal profile is something we all care about. This is a forum, not a social networking site and I think everyone here realizes that (though I think that most of use use this site to replace that function)

That was more of a rant inspired from Facebookers and Tweeters. No one here uses those features as far as I know, and I'm glad. We need online friends, not attention whores.
