It looks bad, but without looking at the log. I don't think, anyone would able to help! Have you try using safe mode to locate your problem(s)?
Excellent DigitalJunkie
I will review this in detail of you send it to me. I also want the Sysinfo report, and the Event logs, all of them. They are plenty small enough to attach to an email.
I will PM you with the instructions on sending them. May I advise that you do not change a bunch of stuff yet, as I will not get it sorted out of you do.
I will make it my priority tomorrow after coffee
cheers
I am reviewing your logs, wow, quick one, what video card are you using ?
See, send me that Sys info I will not have to beg for it !
you get this error if windows doesnt shut down properly, cept you normally have a 'Send Report' and a 'Don't Send' button. krell will sort it out hehe!
Oh I am sorting it out alright, just a few thousand entries since the beginning of Dec. Combine all three logs item by item you get a good feel for whats going on. Of course there are better feels, but I am a computer geek, this is all I get : (
PornMaster, go back to Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, and select each log one at a time. Start at the bottem, and click on an item, then hit arrow up repeatedly.
This takes you thru a chronology, and I would like for you to review all 3 of these, as I am going to have some questions about some of it. This will kind of clue you in on what I am looking at.
I will catch up with you in the next 12 - 15 hours.
cheers
@Krell

Well, I remember when I first got XP, every 2nd or 3rd boot it wouldnt boot correct, load about halfway, and crash, when it finally got into windows after a couple trys, it told me that, a later windows update fixed that, dont remember off hand what it was tho
Was this after a normal reboot, or did it crash and reboot?

...well, Iīm not much of a computer specialist, but I recently bought a new one and it came with Win XP Home Edition, and I had the same thing happening to me.
What happened was that, after I tried to install a version of Nero that came with my previous burner, my computer just froze and I had to reboot it cold.
After that, when XP restarted, that same message popped up...everytime I turned on the PC it did that. First time I didnīt "report" it, second time I did, thinking that message would go away, but no...so, after 6 or 7 times, I typed that phrase "the system has recovered from a serious error" on the search engine of XPīs Help and Support, and it directed me to MSīs Knowledge Base.
Turns out some versions of XP had this bug, which meant that if the O/S crashed, this error message would appear on boot up, even after the error being gone. And they said XP was "uncrashable"...bah!
Anyway, at MSīs Knowledge Base, they offer you to download a small patch that corrects this problem...I did so, and it was fixed!
Stupid people shouldnīt breed.
nope, just a normal rebootOriginally posted by phalkon30

WhitePony is right. i had this same thing happen to me a while back, but it was all fixed up at the windows update site. when you go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com there is are a few choices on the left. i forgot which one (either "windows xp"or "critical...") but one has an update for windows because there was a bug in xp. it's easy to find because it says something like fix or update to "system has recovered from a serious error" bug.
let me know if this helps you any.
yeah, but my computer is all up to date.Originally posted by .::BeatFactory::.

ok...well since krell has the info, he'll tackle it in no time and ill just figure out what the problem is.
Oh yah, its up to date alright. When you installed this *cough* version of XP, did you leave system restore enabled? Do you have a day 1 restore point?
Do you have multiple partitions on your drive, or more than one hd?
Are you using this machine for both home and work use?
.
umm, ok..yeah, i always leave system restore on.
i think i have a day one restore point.
no, i don't have any partitions or multiple harddrives
and no, i just use this PC at home, i don't work, lol
