Yeah, I never would have thought to do that and it seems like some mumbo jumbo...lol Glad it worked out. Having no sound or bad sound ( same thing ) is worthless!

I thought for sure I had it with the "recycle sound syndrome" . So many times that will fix it right there. After you follow those steps in that link you will NEVER want sound again!

I would like to thank everyone else for their input. El C nailed it. I figured it was a driver issue, but I would have never checked IDE drivers.

El C, I take it you had a similar problem before? Well regardless, thanks again!

I had this happen on a Dell Laptop before... I knew the cause but I could not remember the steps ..... looked it up for you.... glad I could help.
