Post Store Singer Recieves Apology After Collective Demanded Royalties (BBC)

A shop assistant who was told she could not sing while she stacked shelves without a performance licence has been given an apology.

Sandra Burt, 56, who works at A&T Food store in Clackmannanshire, was warned she could be fined for her singing by the Performing Right Society (PRS).

However the organisation that collects royalties on behalf of the music industry has now reversed its stance.

They have sent Mrs Burt a bouquet of flowers and letter of apology.

Some people called those who thought that someday you would be ordered to pay royalties for whistling crazy. Still, it's breathtaking the demand was issued in the first place.

How about we just hold politicians to a higher standard so its not a problem to do everything by the books. You know since the laws passed would make sense and fit with the social values, not corporate values.
