Saving images from IE
This is actually something that's been bugging me for a while, just never thought to post.
When I browse a webpage with IE (I'm using 6.0) and attempt to save a regular .jpg image by right-clicking -> save image as, it will only give me the option of saving as .bmp and nothing else. Usually I can deal with bmp, but if I need it as jpg, it's just extra work to convert it over. I have that XP image toolbar thing disabled on my computer now, but I have the same results with using that.
I have Netscape on here as well, and that works fine for saving as jpg, but again, more work to open up the page with NS just to save a small picture or whatever.
I never had this happen on my old computer running Win98, and when I first started using this computer with XP everything was fine, but then it just stopped working.
So is this an IE thing, an XP thing, or just a wrong setting, and how can I go about fixing it?

In Explorer, go to Tools Options File Types.
Scroll down till you see jpg and\or jpeg, make IE your default handler for this file type.
Also, try this, type this in to the run prompt :
regsvr32.exe/i shdoc401.dll
Also, when you save the image, and the name is "hot guy" make sure it says "hot guy.jpg" in the name box, where YOU type the extension, then try to save it anyways.
Also, it could be antivirus or firewall related, if you use a protection suite like Norton.
Also, if you do much editing work, I am highly recomending ACDSee 3 (not 4)
I hear that can be easily gotten for a kind words or by screaming my name . . . . . never mind. just ask.
