By his logic we should also teach that Mels pubic hairs created the universe, the supportive evidence is just as strong as a omnipotent god. Don't know why it is so hard for some people to spot the difference between science and theology.

He also argues the much overstated religion = peace statement which has mountains of historical events to disprove the philosophy. Why anyone would be so stupid as to exclaim this argument as fact is beyond me.

I would still argue that, despite the evidence. The problem isn't the religion, but the humans behind it wielding it as a trump-all card for every argument and situation they don't agree with.

And yeah, Bill's logic still fails, but at least he was calm and didn't interrupt Richard much at all. That's what shocked me, not his arguments.

You missed my whole point about people finding some other motivation on which to incite their hatred should they not have religion.

As a matter of fact I am french Canadian, but not one of the arrogant Quebecois, their like hard line republicans but French. We tried to isolate the disease to one province, sadly it spread west to Alberta somehow. They didn't catch the french but the rest stuck.

Agreed, and that was the first thing that I thought of when Hath responded, but "touche" was a much better response. I didn't feel the need to go there.

With that in mind, I still think religion has it's place, but not with humanity. Humanity doesn't know how to use religion the way each religion is designed. It seems like anyone who is willing to believe in a higher power, and subscribe to the idea of peace with everyone is also the type of person who will take those good ideas and intentions and turn them violently against anyone who doesn't feel the same.
