I have a plug-in called WOT, for web of trust. I am not clear on how to use it's rating feature, so I don't. But it pops up a screen that warns me away from sites that have been rated as dangerous. I guess that if a program like that totally depends on user ratings, then it's open to abuse.
I haven't been to ZeroPaid in a long time, but I registered to the site a long time ago. So long ago that, it seems, I've had to re-register. I never doubted the integrity of ZeroPaid. But I'm now wondering about my wob plugin.
It popped up when I attempted to enter a forum that explains the Windows SP2 patch for enabling Shareaza. I downloaded the patch. I remember doing this a long time ago, but forget all the details. And since I've had to re-install my windows, I suppose that's something I can profitably do again.
The funny thing is, I've been looking around for something that will stand in for my Shareaza, since it keeps reminding me that I'm firewalled, etc.. I port forwarded Shareaza once, before my hard drive broke etc., but it's not something I do often and I don't relish having to learn that all over again. I thought Shareaza was supposed to offer an upgrade that did all that automatically.
Call me lazy, But I figured that maybe there was something out there that actually did what Shareaza was claiming it's client would do, in regard to automatically port forwarding.
I was also mildly surprised to see no mention of Shareaza in the list of p2p clients offered on this site.
I'm not in urgent need of anything. My Shareaza still works, although maybe what I think 'working' is is not satisfactory. I just don't know. Comment if you wish and if you have some insights and/or info to share with myself and others here.

I've got nothing to do with the site, but my best guess is it has something to do with the domain name problems the Shareaza team has faced. When their domain name expired, a company called Discordia LTD (the same scumbags that turned imesh into industry astroturf) snatched the site and promoted their own "shareaza" infested with malware. I'm sure the owners of the site avoided mentioning shareaza to protect their visitors from confusion.
(private) Torrents and newsgroups. Safer, faster, more complete, but not easier to learn.
But hey, you have to learn everything you know at least once...

Shareaza is still in the Multi-Network category.
Adding it to the pages for the networks it uses would
be overkill, though it should be in the G2 page too.
