Flat Screen Monitor Suggestions

Hey everyone....I'm thinking about gettting an LCD monitor. The one I have now is an old Gateway. It has served me well but it's just time to get a new one. It has taken up too much space on my desk, making it quite hard to get any work done around it. Also, it gets very warm in a short amount of time. So the main reason I am getting it is to save space and so I don't have to sit so close to the damned thing. I think my eyesight is worsening as a result of it. I don't need a superfly, high tech one. Just one that will do the job. I don't have many games on my comp since well my comp is just not up to par. I will buy a new comp when I go off to college, so right now I'm just not gonna invest much in my current one.
I went to my local Best Buy and browsed the ones they had there. They have them from the $150 - $500 range. I'm thinking about getting a $200 one. The one they had on shelves that matches that price during that time was a Mag (err dont remember the model name or anything sry....but it was 15"). I guess what I'm trying to ask is there any compatibility problems I should be made aware of such as resolution or anything like that. And I've also heard some ppl have compatibility issues w/ monitors less than 17." Is this true and in what situations does this occur? Also, whats a good trusted brand? Maybe you guys know from pesonal experience....Is Mag good? Any suggestions is gladly appreciated and thanks for all the help you guys have given me in the past. It has seriously benefited me.

This is something that I would not scrimp on. Also, I would spend a lot of time at Best Buys, Circuit City, etc, and look at the pictures.

My favorite drool is this but its pricy. Also now has anti glare coating. Its sweeeeet
