saw this last night. went in prepared to hate it, but was surprised. raimi directed, so the effects were pretty good. gave me a few good jumps, although some stuff was a little over the top.

Have you ever watched the Evil Dead movies, or Army of Darkness?

Over the top is the signature... though it did at one time utilize Bruce Campbell to do so... : )

I hope thats a good thing. Sammy use to make his horror movies funny on purpose and I hope this one of those instances. If its unintentially funny I will be mighty sad.

At times I thought it felt like it was trying to be a B-movie, but it had a decent budget instead.

And yea, some parts like fleecy said are pretty over the top. I won't spoil anything though. :)

Sam always did try to give his horror that classic B movie flavor. I hope he did that here! That would be so cool since its been a very long time since he has done horror!
