well i can answer some of your questions, hope it helps

can i connect to fasttrack anyway? You must have WINE installed and kazaa will work.

which is the best linux which is like window (kinda) and easy to use.. i'm guessing by this you mean distros.. so i'm gunna have too say redhat 8.0 which you can get at www.linuxcd.org for free IF you download it

Can i Burn CD's? i think you could but i'm not sure

Can i Have to OS's on my system? yep, if you have partition it, too partition a drive get Partition magic 8.0( i think that is the newest version)

Is It Worth it? probably not but it's all about the person doing this.

Does anybody know if Windowz 1995 is on fastrack? EVERYTHING is on fasttrack.. lol

but don't go on everything i say as too i ain't the brightest crayon in the box, lol, but it all depends on you, if you wanna try too see if it works up then by all means go for it.

    - CD's can be burned on Linux
    - I think it's worth it, you'll find a myriad of free software for Linux, it's open source, and a lot more stable than windows.

    Umm ok...
you have 32 meg or ram? umm I have more than ten times that and I am seriously considdering buying more.(god bless ram disks it is the only way to game)
win 95 fuck it dude buy a new comp!

Well ok if you can't and you wan't *nix at least buy a new hard drive www.pricewatch.com (umm dose your comp use ide?)there are also relay cheep comps and ram there too. (but problay have an old comp and ram will be hard to get it depends on how old click on the "not exatly new" section if you can't find ram for your comp)

You do relize if you have one hard drive you will have to back it up and reformat it, put 3 partitions on it 1 for winblowz anouter for swap (*nix speek for virtural memory and sence you have 32 meg of ram you will need a decint swap but it will be by far the smallist of the 3 (I hope) and anouter partition for you *nix envyroment (os, appz, games...)

I sugest get a os from a friend then they can help you if you get stuck or go with lindows it is the easyist *nix out there(you mite want to change to a different *nix if you go with lindows. Lindows is great for getting started in the *nix world but it realy isne't the best os)

wine is prity cool but you don't run programs as good as they would be run in Winblowz. shit will crash and it will be a littel slower.

You probably not a high level user why install a OS you know even less? unelss of corse you relay wan't to hack or somthing. which is kewl and all the power to you.
    BUT...
Are you good with security? *nix often have defult names, passwords and ports open. If you don't know what you are doing you are fuked. (but if you know security *nix is the only way to go)
how many programing languages do you know? How good are you with telnet? have you ever compiled a skript to run under a different os? these are somthings you need for hacking and *nix make it easer.

I used yelow dog for a while untell I relized everything that linex provided me I diden't realy need. I like gaming and wine isen't as good for that. I like p2p and agin why use linex fo that? I am not a serous hacker i more deal with mag strip, ccn which I can do fine under winblowz and I like phriking which dosen't realy require a comp.

Munchables you seem brighter than I thought, your grammer and spelling do you no justice. Some how I doubt you are an amatur hacker though, just a thought.

Go with some of the newer distros like Red Hat, Mandrake, etc. I prefer Mandrake because of the ease of use for a newbie, and it can let you challenge yourself when you want to learn new things. Also, Linus is the ONLY way to go when making programs in C or C++. Built in compiler, stable OS, you get the idea.

Oh and hey, DO NOT TOSE OUT WINDOWS COMPLETELY UNTIL YOU ARE MORE FAMILIAR WITH LINUX!! I don't think I can stress that enough.. Remember also, that you can have Windows on another partition. Most newer distros of Linux will resize your harddrive so you can fit them both on (becareful though, back everything up).

    Good luck and happy holidays.

Captian_FLX: You are half correct (I think). I have been told that you can use Mozilla (since it is almost identical to IE at the basics) and you just have to tweak certain things. I don't really know if that's true however because I have never done it.
I am looking into it now, expect a reply soon :-)

*nix means that it runs on either Linux or Unix or another unix based OS.
The Linux Revolution will never win the desktop war. It is there as an alternitive. It may never rise to a great level but it will never be shutdown.

You ned a few explorer files that you have to make to work with linux. Do a goggle search and you will find what you need.

Why did you even post? Besides reiterating something already said, and racking up your post count, what significance does your post make/do?

Any reccent linux distro with xwindows is going to thrash in 32MB of
ram. SuSE 8.0 needs 64MB or it won't even install.

Personally I like SuSE for web browsing and desktop stuff
though the KDE window manager in 8.0 is annoyingly slow
    on a K6-300

Lots of people reccomend mandrake for new users.

    >can i connect to fasttrack anyway?
I'm not aware of a linux fasttrack client. Running windows
programs in linux generally requires some tinkering and
    dosn't work well.

    >Can i Have two OS's on my system?
Yes but you need a basic understanding of disk partitioning,
and you should make sure you have startup floppys handy for
when it dosn't go as planned. I used to have win3.11, win98,
winNT, linux and openBSD on one machine with system commander.

    >Can i Burn CD's
Yes, there is a choice of CD burning software for linux

    > Is It Worth it?
That entierly depends on what you want to do.
If you are a techie and you like
figuring things out it will keep you amused for a long time.
If you like playing with software then there is a lot of
free linux software to try out.

If you just want a machine that works to surf and write a
letter to granny on then stick with one of the NT based
    version of windows.

    >I will be downloading and burning cds and surfing the net and thats about it

Use windows NT4 or windows 2000 then.
