    What to do...

You ever feel like there is something that you should be able to do in your life that will finally let you break out to shine to the entire world? Yeah, me either.

I am always thinking of shit I never do because I am a laze turd. Is that every ones trouble? We just don't have motivation to do anything special with our lives to make ourselves better?

I have a project I thought about today and talked over with one of my co-workers. He was talking about the movie "The Wrestler" and how real it was because he is an older gent and he was around the mid south with wrestling was really big here but was not really popular anywhere else in America. I remember it as I kid. Watching it on the local TV station on Saturday after cartoons. Wrestling was really HUGE here.

Well anyways, he ( my co worker) knows a few of these old wrestlers and goes to church with them and they know a ton of other people and where they all ended up. Most are poor, but not all, and there are all kinds of interesting stories apparently. I got to thinking, what if I got a camera and went around and let all these people tell their stories of the old days. What would they have to say? Would it be interesting and more importantly...would anyone else find it interesting? I have to say this opportunity should not slip away because once these people are gone the stories will die. Is it a good idea to try and document the stories of the people who lived the hard lives of wrestlers in the 70's and 80's? What do you think?

Hard as ever and here to make you people believe...as long as there is one person to hold hope and dream...A GOD...will never die!

The idea is great and has definitely merit. If you plan to make money from this project you'll have to consider getting a release and a simple contract agreement drawn up.
If you remember how inexpensive The Blair Witch Project was and it grossed millions , I think there will be more of this type of movies where people would want to see "raw" amateur directed films. It requires a lot of planning and thought to make it an interesting life portrayal of these people's lives. Anything less and it will diminish the true value and the narrative. Research and plan now and at the same time you might consider looking for the people you consider for the movie. I have a lot of of ideas and as they pop up I will enter them here. Good luck.

I don't know about making money on it but using it as a spring board would be cool if possible. I really need to do some fancy talking and see if I can worm my way into something here. Thats what its all about. Being in the right place and then having the determination to drive forward. The guy I was talking about that I work with has the gift of gab but is so laid back. We may work well together.

Oh, as for a plan. I was thinking of doing what I have heard some other documentary people have done. Start out by seeking the people of the subject matter and the pursue any interesting stories that pop up. It can be hit or miss. King of Kong didn't start off to be THAT movie but ended up being that movie. I know some people of the old wrestling era but the guy I work with seesm to know about everyone. He said he was over a guys house I don't know this weekend and he has a lot of home movies of his time on the road as a wrestler. Thats what got us talking and that def where I would start if I ever start...

For me it has been a lack of resources rather then modivation. The resource of which I am refering to is money. My world shining idea requires a considerable amount of money in order to make it happen..

It is going to take a lot of driving jobs to make enough money to buy this used Deathstar I have had my eyes on.
Once I have it, I will be shining my light all over this dirt ball of a planet, frying it to a nice golden brown.

If you would like to help me, donations are welcomed through PayPal.

Wrestling was huge when I was a kid too. I remember racing home on Staurday afternoon after my paper route just to watch it. Wrestling today does nothing for me. It was just a juvenile interest for me.

MMA is what I like these days. Why not do a story (movie) on MMA? That might actually sell, since it has become so popular. Perhaps Evan Tanner's life would be a good story to tell.

Certainly the best known wrestler from that era is Jerry Lawler. He's still healthy enough to wrestle now and then when some arrogant young whippersnapper doesn't show him the proper respect. :omfg: He's probably been the subject of a documentary already.
