Hi, I've got the aluminum 13' macbook and I have put windows on it through a boot camp partition and use a programme called 'VMWare Fusion' so I dont have to restart my laptop if I want to use windows for something. Only problem is that it is a lot slower than just running windows on startup so I tend to play games not using VMware Fusion; But, I use a shared folder to access my games which goes to my mac setup by VMware Fusion, as I dont have enough memory to install games on the windows partition, and it asks me to type in a password when I double click on the folder and says access denied. It is the 'Z' drive that my shared folder is connected to my mac partition. If anyone knows ANYTHING please post! :slomo:
I take the reason you got the Mac was for the gaming graphics.
The comfig you got going is a world class crash waiting to happen. The password maybe related to the partition you have going.
Mac's are a not my field of knowledge but your system is really set for trouble that much I do know.

No one buys a mac for gaming do they? If they did they'd be pretty dissapointed with the lack of games.
OK first things first. Boot camp is native, VMware is virtualisation (slower, no 3d acceleration).

First, from my limited knowledge of virtualization on Macs, i do know that the resources for gaming are very poor and thus all your speed problems are related to that issue.From some of my friends, (contrary to 3D graphics support from VMware)I do know that they had a few of the problems playing DirectX games.
I would have to agree with puzzler about the permission issue accessing your shared folder.I know m_r has a Mac but I don't know if he uses it for any gaming? maybe he can throw some light on this.
