A big explosion, in the name of science, scared a lot of people in a small town.
Mythbusters went to Yolo County and ended up with a bigger bang than expected.
"It was a boom that was just -- I had never heard anything like that before, it was really weird," said Sherril Stephens.
The explosion was so big it shook the town of Esparto, knocking Stephens off her couch and breaking her front window.

I can't wait for the next season of Mythbusters. Sounds like it's already good and the first episode is scheduled for something like the 13th of April.

That is awesome, wonder if this will affect their ability to get locations for filming. Kind of makes you question their ability to keep myths safe.

500 lbs of ammonium nitrate- holy crap, batman. can't wait to see that episode.
we're here for a good time, not a long time- so have a good time, the sun can't shine every day.....
I don't think Mythbusters should be playing with explosives as obviously they do not understand the properties of ammonium nitrate. Either they are too stupid or forgetful as Oklahoma city bombing was manifested with 2000lbs of ammonium nitrate.
The bombing was a long time in planning; as early as September 30, 1994, Nichols bought 40 50-pound (23 kg) bags of ammonium nitrate from Mid-Kansas Coop in McPherson, Kansas, an amount regarded as unusual even for a farmer. In addition, Nichols also bought another 50-pound (23 kg) bag on October 18.[5] McVeigh approached Fortier and asked him to become involved in the bombing project, but he refused, saying he would never be part of the plan "... unless there was a U.N. tank in my front yard!"[9] To this, McVeigh responded, "What if the tank was in your neighbor's yard? Wouldn't you go to your neighbor's aid? What if it was in the yard of David Koresh?" McVeigh was unable to convince Fortier to assist in the bombing.[10]
The destructive power of such explosion was felt as far as 6 miles as this would be a logical place to evaluate with 500 lbs of ammonium nitrate into some type of perspective.

lucky there wasn't much more damage.

WTF were they thinking? There have already been tests to see if a bomb could be made that would cause that much damage out of ammonium nitrate and the answer is HELL YEAH! Done right and set in the right configuration it makes a mighty bomb. That building was not designed to take a bomb blast as many building were not at the time. The over hang from the second floor spelled the building and peoples doom. The overhang actually caught the force of the blast and that lifted the building up before it collapsed. If it was not for that design flaw the building would not have looked half as bad probably.
Timothy was one stupid fucker and he is one person I ma glad they hurried to execute.
Hard as ever and here to make you people believe...as long as there is one person to hold hope and dream...A GOD...will never die!
So many innocent people including those little kids in the daycare died for some fucken'lunatic.
the reason the whole building didnt fall is secondary devices in the building failed to go off...there is firefighter testimony of the bomb removal from inside. civil liberties were to be suspended after this but were not until after 911.the WTC which so heavily destroyed from thermite charges that not one phone, desk or filing cabinet was found intact.
