Just wanted to let you guys know about our new site,

ÜberShare.com is simply a website containing information and links about ÜberStandard MP3s (and OGGs). This site can tell you how to create Über MP3s, how to share them, and where to find them!
What are ÜberStandard MP3s?
- Ripped with EAC (secure mode)
- Encoded with LAME 3.92 or LAME 3.90.2 using --alt-preset standard (or extreme)
- Full albums only
- Proper ID3 tags
- Each album directory contains a .log file (from EAC), a .m3u playlist file, and a .MD5 file
What else can I find on UberShare.com ?
- Guide to creating Uber MP3s
- Guide to creating Uber OGGs
- List of Direct Connect Uber Hubs
- G2 Shareaza Magnet Links to Uberized albums
- Articles
- Links
- Forums
So in short, if you're interested in finding high quality MP3s (full albums) or OGGs, check it out.

Hmm.. What is wrong with the letters on the page?
to tell the truth i cant be bothered using eac, it takes soooooooo long. easier to use wmp or musicmatch etc. u cant notice the diff between eac 128 an normal 128 unless ur an audiophile neways.
its cool to have a community that you know uses the same software and method to rip files and trade amongst themselves but i dont like eac...personal preferance but i like DBpowerAmp Music Converter..very easy..can rip and or encode audio files, can also use crc check sums while ripping/converting too.
Currently using eMule/BT/SLSK
Computer specs: Pathetic..need to buy new one

Chris has done a good thing with his tutorials. However, I would request that he begin a site for single files only. In my over 35 years of listening to music, I have listened to approximately 20 albums upon which EVERY song was good (in my opinion)...a lot more albums where MOST of the songs were good. I would like to join his site, but I can't see having to download or share entire albums when most of the songs aren't of good caliber. I thought one of the main purposes of file-sharing was to be able to pick and choose the songs one wants without having to accept the filler material. Otherwise, Chris keep up the good work!!
The source for all of your Uberstandard albums can be found on my site:

And with the G2 distribution it isn't 100% necessary everyone download and share entire albums (ie. Justin9670), but it is highly encouraged.
Of course it takes long, EAC when used in secure mode does that for a very good reason! If you turn it off you have a simple ripper that is very fast, but I use EAC specifically for the secure mode.to tell the truth i cant be bothered using eac, it takes soooooooo long. easier to use wmp or musicmatch etc. u cant notice the diff between eac 128 an normal 128 unless ur an audiophile neways.
There is no eac 128 mp3... there is also not a normal 128 mps. When you use EAC with Lame alt preset standard you get amazingly sounding mps... if you rip with another encoder in plain CBR 128 you end up with bad sounding mp3s. You are not an audiophile if you notice the difference between the two, I reckon everyone notices the huge difference, even on average speakers and certainly with good speakers.
Umm when I tried this I had two gigantic problems.... I selected bitrate for The Rip to be 192 But It gave me all kinds of random Bit Rates.... The other problem is that it ripped everything but it Forgot to compress them so then I had to compress them with the LAME.exe which I set it so it should have done it during the process of ripping right? :hole I am a clueless dork I know but hey I hate nachos and love good music! Why am I so screwed up!???

crc check sums or sorta a "secure* mode for DBpowerAMP but spoon is also developing a secure mode for a future version of the music converter.....i also rip my albums but in singles rather then 1 big file...

Well I can't say this appeals to me. I usually use CDex, and sometimes FreeRIP, especially for OGG. I don't particularly care for EAC.
You can't triple stamp a double stamp.
I have ripped almost 40 uberstandard OGG albums already. I already have 20 posted on peerweb.tk and will soon have the rest posted.
Also, the reason that you come up with weird bitrates is because it is in VBR (Variable Bitrate). It is far superior to CBR (Constant Bitrate) because it gives certain quality to parts of the song where it needs it. CBR just does a flat rate which can not change when the sound changes.
Ohh.. so the bitrate can be lower and higher because of the song eh? that is neat... Thanks that helps me a lot... and what is the secure mode anyways what does it do? my flat-out guess that it is so that people can't track down the original ripper eh?

No, funny you'd say that, but actually it makes sure that the wave created is an exact replica of the CDs. Basically it makes sure you don't get skips in your songs; it makes them el perfecto.Originally posted by evilmegaman
