Your better off with RedHat or some other Linux os with WINE. Lindows is just linux it doesnt run windows programs also unless you have something like WINE which you can get for any linux os.

    Thumbs down

i've tried lindows 2.0 and 3.0, and if you compare it to any distribution of linux, it sucks. Lindows is just a dist. of linux with WINE pre-installed. 3.0 didn't even ahve it pre-installed. There's a thing called click-n-run in lindows, which is a scam. You pay $99(US)so you can download free software such as Gaim or WINE or Xmms, etc. The one good thing about click-n-run, is that everything's installed in one click. That's about it. The prices for everything is outrageous. There's no point. Lindows automatically runs as root. You can't change accounts or anything. You can imagine the dangers of running with a root account. If you have two or more hard drives like me, here is something that might be a bit of annoying for you. if you use Lindows to access a hard drive with windows on it, it screws up that hard drive's MBR (master boot record), when it does, you have to run Windows XP's recovery tool or fDisk to reset the mbr. If not, and you try to boot from that Windows Hard Drive, you'll be greeted by an endless screen of "LLLLLLLLLLLLLL" that scrolls down continuously. In coclusion, Lindows is pure CRAP

Well, as promised, I installed Lindows OS SP2

I'm to say the least, not impressed

At first boot, it was cool, the graphics looked like a combo of windows 3.1 and xp, and the intro sound was.........AWESOME, but thats about where I stopped liking it, when it actually loaded...

Before I get to that tho, I do have to say, Windows XP Pro boots about 2.5 times faster for me than lindows did, and lindows takes up about the same space as XP, so why switch to some hard to use barely supported proggy?

Fine, I get into lindows, exactly 2 min later, when I'm going into a menu, it locks the machine, so I rebooted, found some cool features, then 2min later it froze again

I did this over 5 times, I did like some of the features in it, but most can be added on to xp

Overall, it sucks and is a waste of time
    -Its slower
    -less compatible
    -has a very unfamiliar feel
-hard to get used to, most things are described in a non descript way

Sorry it took me so long to post, I totaly forgot about this thread until tonight

    >unless people can give me ideas on how to uninstall it?
Some more information would help us to help you.

    >i did the run beside windows thing
Presumably you get a menu at boot to select lindows or
    windows?

Did lindows resize your windows partiton and make a linux
partiton, or did it install onto the windows partition?
You can see what partitons are on the drives with
fdisk (95/98/ME) or windows partition manager (NT)

    >i performed all the shit that it tells you to do on the site
How link to the instructions and a description of what happened
when your tried? You have to help us to help you.

Anyway, first loose the boot menu. On 95/98/me fdisk /mbr
and set the win partition active. On NT/2k/XP then I don't
know how execpt to restore the backup of your MBR that you
should have (but didn't) make before trying a new OS.

Then if lindows is on drive C just delete the massive directory.
If lindows is on a seperate partion then use partition magic
to remove it and resize the win partition.
