If someone wishes to view your image in its full size they can do so by clicking on the thumbnail.
There is a limit to the size of an image that can be viewed in a post on this site.
If an image size exceeds that limit, it is rendered as a thumbnail.

Think he wanted to post the picture in the thread, rather than an attachment. To do that you need a to copy the image link and click add image (mountain in square) and simply paste the link into the pop up window.
