Would this Make you buy an Album ??

Yesterday here in Australia there was a new way of buying an album.

USB albums could stick it to CDs with new DDA format launched today

CD collections may soon be a pile of USB sticks in a box if fans take up an Australian digital format launched today.
DDA albums were created to include online extras with a physical music product.
Each album is shipped on a rubber stylised DDA USB stick, identified with a swing tag.
As well as music, each DDA album provides access to online content such as photos, news, music videos, updates from the band and social networking.
It also lets fans access their content from the MyDDA service using any internet-connected computer or mobile phone.

So would this encourage you to buy an album in this format.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.
    It's already tomorrow in Australia

Not likely, its a CD on a USB stick. It also sounds like allot of promotional material that would normally be offered free is also being monetized with this model.

Quite frankly I'm not likely to pay for music until I have a steady job with a good income. Its not something I can justify paying for at the moment. I'm fine with Creative Commons work and the odd torrented album.

The problem with today's music industry is the fact that they sometimes think that repackaging crap music will get it to sell more. The sad part is that this is thinking outside of the box for them. In reality, if the music is bad, people won't buy it. If you ask me, I say, "Keep up the good work music industry! Us CC artists are loving the extra fanbase you leave behind on a weekly basis!"

It's interesting. As long as I didn't have to install some bloated app and if the music was DRM-free I think it would be worth a shot. One thing that has kind of got me buying cds again is the extras that record companies throw in when you buy directly from them.

Most people who still buy CD albums simply play them in their car or home which makes this model impractical. People who are wise to digital music might take to this.

    Nope.

1)I don't want all that other shit, nor do I want to have to plug something in to listen to the music and have the damned thing accessing the internet while I am doing other shit.

    2) When I buy music I prefer to be able to slap it on my PC and not have to fuck with changing disks etc.. Like I want a box full of USBs to dig through

    3) finally, I don't have a USB port in my car so I am limited to listening to the music on my PC. What fun is that?

All that does is makes the medium the music on 1000X more expensive than pressing a CD. I still think that music is near-valueless, no matter what format it is presented in.
Here's Britney Spears' private jet... The gulf stream 3 doesn't even have a remote control for its surround sound DVD system. Still think downloading music for free isn't a big deal?

Wait. Clarify that please. Do you mean: 1)music is worthless, 2)its doesn't have any meaning to you, 3)people should not try and sell it, 4) musicians should not get paid for writing, playing or performing music or 5) there is no reason to buy music any more because the consumer has found a way to easily pirate it?

I see a big debate coming soon! lol

A lot of the newish aftermarket car units have these. I bought a cheap unit, shipped with the quickness from Hong Kong - shipping was $48 and was super fast (6 days!), that has several different input options including USB. I bought this thing for $128, plus the thing has a 3.5 inch TV that plays Divx and pretty much any file you can throw at it except x264 or mov. files AND it has 60 watts x 4 mosfet outputs! This unit BUMPS it! Its freaking great for long trips too. I pop in a DVD with six movies on it and the trip is over before I know it...WONDERFUL! If youre on the road alot its worth a look. It even has gaming hook ups and rear monitor inputs if youre too lazy to use a mirror!

Here is the guy I got it from UNIT HIGHLY recomended for the price!

Here is a new model I am gonna upgrade to LINKY!

Hmmm, THIS one also looks great. Thats the same brand as mine too. Yepper, I think I will go with this one...some day. lol I have sooooooooooo many things on my plate lately, now that I have lots of free money since I stopped my bad habbit.

Youtube is a great place to look up items you see on ebay http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...rch_type=&aq=f

Why am I always dragging thread off topic talking about shit I am interested in? Hmmmm? Shut up!

Anyone seen TATER????????? I am worried. I havent seen her here since before the holiday

I'd be curiouse what the answer is as a producer myself. Not that would change any future plans, but I am curious. I'd be happy to debate stuff like this as an artist, so I'm betting it'll be interesting.
