    Smile whats a good cpu?

    I have a gigabyte motherboard and its a decent one but I'm wondering what cpu with a good cooling system can I get for it????

    Core 2 Quad Q9550. Very fast even when not overclocked. When overclocked, it's a monster.
    As for cooling, if you can afford it and you have a big enough case, the Zalman CNPS9700 LED provides superb cooling.

    Your motherboard can only support specific CPU's.

    You will need to look up the documentation on your motherboard on the manufacturers web site to find out which processors it can support.

    There is also the new intel i7 that I'm looking at getting. I doubt that your mobo supports that. I was looking at the Q9550 before the i7 920 came out. Same price, but the i7 beats the Q9550 in almost every test on Tomshardware
    Here's Britney Spears' private jet... The gulf stream 3 doesn't even have a remote control for its surround sound DVD system. Still think downloading music for free isn't a big deal?

    which chipset does your mobo support? This may either widen or reduce your options.

    Anything Dual Core or Quad Core with a high frequency (over 2.5GHZ)
    Look at your motherboard specs to see what type (intel or amd) and what socket type (lga775, am2+, etc) chip to buy
