I think I asked you this before, but I can't find the topic/post about it, but what programs do you use to produce your tracks? Anyways, it sounds great. You don't usually do DNB stuff do you? I always thought you were a Trance guy.

Yeah, Trance is my main genre, but I dabble in DnB a fair bit. I'm shooting for being able to produce in two different genre's, understand the differences and see what elements I can integrate into each other. Of course, everything is experimental and a learning experience one way or another - the only way I know how to stay "fresh" (no pun intended)

As for what I use to produce music, that would be FL Studio. Right now, I'm dabbling in third party vst plug-ins. The only third party plug-in I used was the TBL Bassline Synthesizer.

Though, this track used a few samples from third party sample packs to help with the percussions. Those would be the 116 Drum Machine, All the Breaks - The 300 Most Essential Drum Breaks of All Time, SoundScan DrumNBass, and another DrumNBass sample pack.

A few of the sounds that I was able to produce was mainly thanks to the Fruity Layer feature which allows you to take different channels and "layer" them into one. Still, a lot of different default channels and modifying them in different ways. The only thing I did different from the other tracks is using the Fruity Layer. The synthetic string that starts 22 seconds in is really 4 3x Oscillators fed through the layer dumped into Reeverb 2 with the 'dry' slider all the way down.

Of course, plenty of other things was added to the song, using default plug-ins. Hope that gives you a good idea how it was made. :)

You can ask me since I should be able to answer a good chunk of the possible questions. Reply, start a new thread or PM. Either way is cool with me. :) I've helped a few others get on their way, so helping others isn't entirely new to me. :)

Alternatively, you can check out tutorials on YouTube which should help give you a broader understanding rather than nailing down any specific things you don't understand.

    Here's one tutorial series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8k-lVCTnNQ

YouTube is loaded with these. :)
