Who has been the greatest live act ever?

Who has been the greatest live act ever?

The best band or act you've ever seen?

The Stones, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Queen, Pink Floyd, Prince, The Who, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Kiss, AC/DC, Nirvana or someone else?

This Day in Music have just started a poll to find out. If you fancy voting for who you think should win go to http://www.thisdayinmusic.com

You can vote for any act, just go to 'other' on the list.

I saw Rage at this year's Big Day Out. They were pretty awesome. Daft Punk's Pyramid Tour was pretty good too... but that might have been the yokes.

I would have to say Breaking Benjamin by far. I have now seen them 3 times and will see them each and every time they come back around. Second would definitely have to be Saliva (I have seen them 3 times as well), and third would be Crossfade. Others though are seriously too close to define a place. They were all equally great and I would see them again anytime the come back around. Those would be (in no particular order): Three Days Grace, Pantera (Cowboys from hell tour), Staind, 3 Doors Down, Creed, Godsmack, and Shinedown. One that I didn't like much at all was Chevelle. I love their music even have all their disks, listen to Panic Prone daily...but was not impressed with their live performance at all.

I saw Dr John perform once, about 12 years ago, on the banks of the Mississippi river right at sun set. I was pretty high but he was amazing. By the time he worked his way into "I was in the right place but it must have been the wrong time" I knew I had just saw the best performance ever. Later on that night I saw Bob Dylan on a different stage but his show didn't even come close to Dr John's.

So far in 2006 was G3- Joe, Steve and John Petrucci

But I must give a honorable mention to Ray Brown back in the early 90's

I never saw.. but I hear the King was ... well... the King!

I saw the Police in the early 80's and they were great. I also saw Pear Jam in 96. They have my vote. Everything else (Springsteen, Cold Play, Rolling Stones) was just ok.

I haven't seen them but I too have heard that they are very intense.
