no results for the search I made

    I am using ares 1.9.0.3008.

I searched for a few famous people. (jennifer lopez, lindsay lohan, rob zombie) There are no results. Could someone explain the reason that there are no results?

    1. check to see if your firewall is blocking ares
    2. forward the port ares uses (www.portforward.com)
    3. switch to BT. its more reliable anyway.

this is assuming of course, that your internet connection is "A" OK. get back to us with specifics if you're still having problems.

    1. In "control panel" "windows firewall". I unchecked "ares". And in Ares when I search. There is still no results.

    2. I am not using a router. Should I still forward the ports?

Youre are in the right place.

I recommend you switch to FROSTWIRE for what youre looking for and leave that BT crap alone. It sucks for stuff like this. But Frostwire does support BT links if you choose to do that. To use the BT (BitTorrent)part of Frostwire you will need to go to a site like http://www.mininova.org/ and when you search that site to find a download, click the download link and choose to open it with Frostwire. I hope this helps

Ares has a lot of problems with its network. Some people seem to get closed off for no aparent reason. Frostwire will find you what you want.

When they don't complete I keep hitting either force start or research for sorces until it finishes up. Maybe you should try searching that mininova site for a download link and open it in Frostwire.

I know this doesn't solve your ARES problem but I actually doubt you will be able to solve it. Ive seen so many people with this exact trouble. It starts one day and despite all efforts to fix it, Ares never responds. Ares has many problems and I think its because the program has growth issues. It worked fine as a small network but was unable to expand to accommodate a large user base. The network fragments. Once youre on a fragmented section you seemed to be screwed. Sorry I can't help. I would like to see a solution to this issue as so many people have had to jump ship from it.
