Here are some things called "Cups" from the Gary Fong website. They look like anti-slip feet for your mbp. The cost is ten bucks at the time of this post.

I've got a 15" Pro and they do get hot but I would guess that's their nature. If you have NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics processor; and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory2 then be ready to have some extra heat added as the GPU will produce around 10 W of heat at full clock speed. Cooling plate will not work for the Mac as the bottom is a solid surface and all the vents are side mounted. Furthermore, adding any external cooling device can actually impede the normal cooling cycle and I would be careful in adding anything without a solid proof that the device actually works. I would contact Apple technical support and ask them for their opinion. There is a couple of utilities which monitor the temp of sub-assemblies, but you still should talk to Apple. Cheers.
