i am a member but i cant get on the site, anybody else know whats up, they said something about some server attacks a few weeks ago. anybody else having problems.

I also heard about the attacks on HD-BITS.ro they sound like some idiot was really trying to put them out of circulation...They have been down a couple of times in the past 2 weeks for one day or two days.DSo hopefully they are only off for a day or so...I love HD-BITS.ro
I even bought a VIP lifetime account on there so it will be an even greater loss to me.If anyone hears any thing Please PM me.Thanks

There are several things going on there:
1.) There was a MASSIVE denial of service attack on them repeatedly.
2.) They were upgrading the server, and several components
3.) There were problems with their ISP
4.) They completely rebuilt the site, using new code, and a completely new theme; from what I understand it was buggy.
I don't know if they are going to be able to get the site back up online, but they were definitely having trouble. If it stays down it will be a huge shame because they are by far one of the best HD sites out there.
RE: SCENE HD; they're definitely down but that is only as of this morning.
I'm betting they'll be back up soon.

That site is not always accurate.

They are not as huge as the other sites, but they will be within a couple of months, as many new torrents are being added daily- and I mean daily. They also have some very fast seeders that max out my connection (8Mbps).
What language and country are HD.BITS.ro?
THANKS BlackSpade I hope HD-bits come back soon.I read on HD-bits about the denial of service attack some idiot was really going at the site from what HD-bits told members on their front page..They said they had to ban over 10000 ip ranges to stop the attack and then it started up again next day but was about 2 weeks ago now.I just hope their getting a stronger server host with a better firewall etc I don't care really if there down for a month if it means HD-bits comes back stronger and better than ever!!I reckon the person(s) doing the denial of service attack were from a competing torrent site,after all when these sites get well known and big they start to pull in a lot of money and this gets them noticed and people get jealous unfortunately. I think HD-bits is in Romania try to learn the domain endings!
As for SceneHD I had only been a member there for a short time I spent my time at HD-bits.But I don't want to see SceneHD disappear
it was/is a really good High Def Movie site.I'm hoping like you are BlackSpade that they come back soon.

Romania, with the languages English and Romanian. It is still down, and they won't answer any questions on IRC.
SCENEHD is back up though.
I agree nothing is accurate 100% of the time, but when it comes to something like a web-based system designed to ping a site to see if it is up, it should be reliable 99.9999% of the time.
Anything that relies upon technology should be accurate almost 100% of the time- like a calculator.
Unfortunately that site mentioned above has a few glitches which prevent it from having a similarly reliable track record.
For example, many sites entered in it come back as "huh? that doesn't appear to be a site on the interwho" or something to that effect, yet entering the URL would take you there immediately.
I'm not against it, I am just saying it isn't reliable- at all.
for me it has been 99% reliable for what it does. If they have the same pipeline down between it and what it is pinging then sure it is going to give wrong answer.

The announcement is that they have finally decided to change ISP, in favor of a new ISP.
The site is loading very fast!
