Clueless about Http-Tunneling and BT download

    Hi:

I just came across this Http-Tunneling thing. (the GNU one)

I am a bit clueless about that it actually does. Is it possible that someone can clarify it for me?

My knowledge is limited. This is all I know so far

    1. I cannot download torrents because somehow I cannot listen to any port through TCP. (all closed by a firewall)
    2. I have a computer at home with slower connection but I am guessing the ports are open there
    3. I know I have to open the server at home and open the client here.

However, what I don't know is: what does my home computer do then? Does it simply do the routing so this computer can know where the peers are? Or does it do the download and then upload it to this computer??

Not really understanding how BT really works, I am confused here

For all the help, Thanks in advance

Are you connecting from your home, or from your work? Do you have access to making changes to the firewall or is that handled by an IT Team?

You can review this link to learn more about SSH Tunneling.

    Hope that helps!

I am connecting from school, so I cant change the firewall setting.
My home computer is not behind any firewall by my ISP has strict bandwidth limit.

So, if I set up an SSH server or that Http-Tunneling server at home. Would my home computer be doing all the downloading and uploading? or would I still be able to take advantage at my school unlimited bandwidth?

This is what I am unclear of
