    staying anonymous online

I've been noticing as of late alot of these big sites are pushing harder for our private information. I found this article on digg. It gives good details on securing privacy while online. Anonymity of Proxy

Speeds of proxies are preventing people from using them. Slow and really slow download speeds can be the killjoy.

People should not use proxies for file sharing, especially tor, bogs down the proxies and prevents them from being used for their original purpose of viewing website. If you can't take the heat from file sharing don't do it, simple as that.

Sheesh, the guy didn't say a thing about filesharing, just that sites are being more aggressively nosy and he wants to use proxies.
Nobody can start over and make a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.

The best use I have ever had for proxy sites was viewing sites I should not go to at school.

And if you have a competent enough IT guy at school, you should have your access revoked soon.

There is no such thing as anonymous on the web. Someone always knows who you are and what you are doing. The only question is who are the people that know and how trustworthy are they with your information. Obviously open proxy's where you have no clue who the owner is are the worst choice.

I've heard good things about the TOR project though.
