CNET - Federal regulators voted 3-2 on Friday to declare that Comcast's throttling of BitTorrent traffic last year was unlawful, marking the first time that any U.S. broadband provider has ever been found to violate Net neutrality rules.

It's interesting that Verizon Communications Inc., AT&T Inc. and the U.S. Telecom Association all released statements saying the FCC action proves there is no need for federal network neutrality legislation. They fear laws because once they are passed they cannot change them easily. The FCC on the other hand is a political tool. The 3-2 vote demonstrates this.
