Java or something like that HELP

Ok I'm having some troubles with my computer. For some reason my Java or whatever is not working it somehow got uninstalled I guessed (probly me being an idiot) Anyways, now I can't watch Youtube videos on Youtube or like on myspace I can't do alot of things because nothing is working right. I don't even know if that has anything to do with Java or not. But like on youtube it gives me the message "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player." When I click the link it won't let me download it for some reason. I'm totally stumped on this one.

btw I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser and have Windows XP.

What version of Java do you have? Have you updated it lately? If not, go here-

I would suggest downloading the newest flash like it suggests:
    http://www.download.com/Flash-Player...-10001055.html
Theres a link to a direct download if the flash install page isn't working.
The site I linked to is by Cnet, tested spyware free.

Check if your Java is turned on. In the Firefox toolbar click Tools -> Options -> Content.

To see if you've got Flash click Tools -> Add Ons -> Plug ins.

If everything checks out, try viewing the site with IE. Then what happens?

Do you have any Firefox plug ins which might be controlling scripts such as "No Script"?

ok now when I look at firefox plugins it says I dont have Java installed but I swear on my life I've installed that and the Flashplayer installed but for some reason it doesn't pop up in the plugin section like you said to look at.

Check and make sure you don't have noscript installed...it's a Firefox addon that intentionally breaks Javascript and Flash until you tell it to allow it on a per-site basis.

You can tell if you have noscript by going to Tools -> Addons.
