I am convinced the 5 gameboy Mega Man games are the best.

    those were, quite simply, genius

also bubble man stage theme music isn't catchy to me :-/

but it's a great and irritating level. consistently pisses me off

speak of the devil I just beat it without dying once :) I think my skillz just improved ten fold

i don't know what it was about megaman 2, i played it more than all the others. it is a sequel that outdoes the original, which is rare. megaman 3-7 (and the rest) were just sorry imitations rehashing the same stuff over and over. evil genius sends out 8 robots that are weak to each others' weapons. kill them, collect junk, and proceed to the center square. then kill the 8 robots again, and the evil genius 2 or 3 times

i couldn't think of the bubbleman music for a long time. i had crashman and heatman going though my head, but eventually it came to me. i heard a guy whisling bubbleman at work one time. how often does a guy hear a person whistling video game music (much less for a 15+ year old game) in a factory? the really sad bit was me recognizing it right away

If you think deeper, ANY game is rehashing the same idea.

Quest: Pixel-hunt the screen, find some items, use some items in some places, go into next room.
FPS: Kill enemies, find a stronger weapon, go to next area, kill stronger enemies, get even stronger weapon etc. In the end kill boss and win.
scroll-shooter: move across the screen, destroying everything and collecting bonuses. In the end of a stage, kill boss and go to next level.

So saying "Megaman 3 is the same game as Megaman 2, only with new levels" is a silly thing.

as a flowchart, sure games are basically the same. but i don't play flowcharts, i play finished games. zelda 2 is a sidescroller, and it is nothing like megaman. or super mario brothers. somewhere on earth, a cock is screaming for you to eat it. go find it
