Reverse Engineering? Providing video codecs on USB drives?

I recently got myself a DivX DVD player which has support for USB drives. The problem is, it does not support playback for XviD 1.1 Can I provide codecs for XviD on my USB pen drive in any way so that the player can take the codec from there and start the playback. I think there might just be a way to reverse engineer the player. It'll be of great help if someone has an answer to this query. Thank You.

It's doubtful you'd be able to load a codec via the USB pen, however you might be able to upgrade the firmware via USB to allow for lagacy xvid support.

What's the make and model of the player by the way?
A couple of sites I've been working on if you're interested http://www.howtogetfaster.co.uk, [url]http://www.documentaries.me.uk[url] and a new startup http://thelocalseo.co
