Fido: a zombie-comedy masterpiece
Plot:
A cloud of radioactive gas from outer space engulfs the earth, causing anyone who dies to be reanimated and turned into a flesh eating monster. A devastating zombie war ensues. Eventually a collar is invented that turns the zombies into slave-servants.
Fido follows the story of a young boy who forms an attachment to his zombie that he names Fido.
My Opinion:
I absolutely love the visual style of this film. It is set in a sort of retro/futuristic world that is both cool and beautiful.
Far from a mindless comedy, this film is a deep satire that forces it's viewer to think about the absurdities of our everyday life and the moral implications of our throw-away society.
I would suggest this movie to anyone who is a fan of satire, dark comedy, zombies and the like.
Rent it
